25 years on… 25 years ago, my journey back north had begun. A renaissance, new lease of life, wth many dreams to fulfil, projects and ambitions that found deep & solid threads.
For the first time, stepping stones appeared before my eyes. Each one would allow me to step forward.
25 years through the kaleidoscope, with their moments of pleasure, smiles, tears, fears and hopes.
25 years on, all but few dreams fulfilled. May the next 25 help me realise a few more.
Geopoetics in motion
With Kenneth White in mind, he in Britanny and I, in Scotland, one could evoke a chassé croisé… As life wanderings take us on extraordinary journeys, only death can curtail. For it is the journey that matters (and not the destination.)
There are more adventures to be unveiled. So many archipelagos 🙂
Cheers, Slainte, Santé! …Because I believe in life before death; and I trust my angels.
Loved this. And the image of the things suspended in your window, too.
Thank you kindly, Andy. That peerie boat and stars mean everything at my window, together with that “follow your dreams” carved inside wood… 🙂
May the years ahead continue to be so fulfilling Nat. Warm wishes, Nicky
Thank you very kindly, Nicky. We have “grabbed an oar”, let’s continue steering our boat in the fair wind. 🙂
I share so many of your thoughts, so beautifully put. I’ll reblog if I may.
We are nomads, Jane. But we both found home, or so it seems. Let’s continue to walk the shore, and share it (notably) via our respective blogs. It would be good to meet some time, and share this experience viva voce. Have a beautiful next 25. 🙂
Thanks! You too. We’re planning the next stage now. Moving on, hoping to try country living this time. We are so tired of the city, the noise, the incivisms. We won’t find anything like the Shetlands though. A bit of greenery without quad bikes is as much as we’re hoping to find 🙂
Yes, I share your feeling about “escaping the city”. Very best of luck in finding your patch of green that suits your heart and spirit. Once found, it become.da the ultimate treasure.
We have to choose wisely this time, the first that hasn’t been dictated by work or children’s needs. This should be the place we choose because it’s where we want to live.
The ultimate pleasure, Jane – happy home hunting!

Like Nat, my life changed cultural direction a quarter of a century ago. Like Nat, I’m wondering where the next 25 years will take us.

My pleasure indeed ));<)))))

The song by kate bush, a new start
My great catalyst in life – my role model par excellence 🙂
Well you have a fellow here who couldn’t agree more. I recall as a child dancing to her when she first came out, finding something thrilling about the reach of her (high pitch) voice back then and the accompanying wordage, that has never been equaled. At the time it was more about the sound, now I appreciate the poetry as you mention, in every lyric. Many write well as singers (London Grammar being a recent find) but few equal her. In fact I cannot think of one. But then, I’m hideously and happily biased 😉 I hear you sister, good taste.
🙂 You on FB? We could share more :))

Will do 🙂
